Simulation for special Applications
acp-IT's offer for specialised simulations cover a variety of application areas according to our customers' requirements. We support our customers from first conceptions up to the professional operation of simulation models.
Airport Terminal Simulation
The airport terminal simulation model help to improve business processes in the airport. The idea is to model the airport terminal with detailed passenger flows to better plan and optimize key parameters of the terminal like passenger throughput, capacity, cycle times and bottlenecks. Furthermore the influence of checkpoints, the terminal behavior in case of emergencies can be determined exactly.
The simulation can be used also as online key decision support system: The simulation is running continuously and is always up-to-date with the real situation in the terminal area. Once the planning personnel identifies an extraordinary situation, it can immediately run the simulation at full-speed to determine possible alternatives to the current planning, e.g. re-route flights at different terminals and precisely identify the terminal behavior in that case.
Railway Simulation
The simulation of railway operations is an important means to answer various complex questions with regard to railway logistic, infrastructure and trains like
- determining the capacity of lines and stations
- calculating detailed timetables based on dynamic models and simulations
- calculating the robustness of timetables (e.g. by Monte-Carlo simulation)
- examining the behavior of system failures and delays (e.g. train or infrastructure failures)
- analyzing various signaling systems (e.g. discrete block systems, ETCS Level 1..3, etc.)
- determining the power consumption for railway operation
The railway operation is considered as a network of segments, signals, switches and cross-overs. By using specialized library (e.g. Rail Yard Library) complex rail networks can be built fast and detailed.
Supply Chain Simulation
Complex supply chains are often the result of long-grown business processes combined with high number of products and complex product structures. Within supply chains companies typically have to deal with a high number of supply chain participants with different behaviour, complex supply chain networks as well as challenging order behavior of end customers.
A virtual simulation model of the supply chain is the base for a thorough analysis and the definition of concrete measurements to improve the supply chain according to the desired key parameters. Beside the analysis of bottlenecks within the supply chain, it is possible to consider dynamic influences like changing orders, varying capacities, breakdowns etc. within the optimization process.
3D-Animation
We develop customized 3D-Models of our customer's systems or applications to visualize important aspects in a natural way. The developed models can later be reused e.g. to perform simulation studies.
Storage and Logistic Simulation
acp-IT applies simulation based methods and tools for supporting the optimized planning of storage and logistic systems. Our service portfolio covers the support of requirements analysis, early simulation studies of system behavior up to the ramp-up optimization of the desired system. Customer benefits are mainly increased safety, reduced risk as well as reduced time and cost, because all relevant development process are virtually simulated and thus secured before physical realization.
Customer Benefits
- Risk reduction by early validation
- Time and cost reduction by optimized planning and development
- Optimized visualization of complex systems
