The Integrated Product Family for Production IT

The core architecture of InFrame Synapse is designed as an integrated, modular and highly flexible software system. It is a web based solution guaranteeing scalability for extension and upgrading the manufacturing line with new equipments. In its core InFrame Synapse is designed with a state-of-the-art system architecture (Service Oriented Architecture, SOA), open for extension with well defined and documented interfaces.

To centrally manage, monitor and control high-tech production lines, InFrame Synapse provides a comprehensive and quite advanced set of MES modules contained in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Additionally acp-IT offers a set of further dedicated software modules for process analysis, diagnosis and control, which are subsumed under the name Process Control System (PCS).

A key component for supporting the production planning process of complex workcenter oriented manufacturing lines is the Advanced Planner & Scheduler System (APS). This component features a highest-performance real time scheduling system that allows on-demand calculation of production schedules for near term and midterm planning. InFrame Synapse APS can be integrated seamlessly with InFrame Synapse MES resulting in the most powerful production planning and control software systems available on the market.

In order to facilitate the integration of equipment to the MES, acp-IT has designed the InFrame Synapse PLC Connector. This is a piece of software, which can be configured by the equipment suppliers in their well known PLC world and provides a standardized equipment interface (e.g. SECSII) for the equipment. On the MES side InFrame Synapse MES already provides this standard connectivity. Equipments, that use our PLC-SECSII Connector, can be integrated to InFrame Synapse MES (or other MES) seamlessly with no additional effort.

The InFrame Synapse Simulation Suite allows to build a digital model of the PV manufacturing line and simulate that line together with the MES. The first step is that the line logistics is rapidly built using our InFrame Synapse Simulation suite. The model build is typically performed together with the industrial engineering teams of our customers to verify and optimize the line concept, capacity, throughput, production logistics, maintenance strategies etc. Since already within the digital model all MES relevant basic data are contained it is obvious to use the model data within the simulation also as base data for the MES. And it’s natural to couple simulation and MES for a manufacturing line, where the MES is controlling the production flow – which is anyhow the trend in highly automated manufacturing lines. Therefore we are able to already run the MES with all the process flow and the equipment used, prior to the ramp up phase.

With PiWeb from Carl Zeiss acp-IT offers an outstanding high-end extension for InFrame Synapse PCS. PiWeb provides a comprehensive set of advanced analysis, visualization and real-time reporting functionalities that perfectly supplements InFrame Synapse PCS. With InFrame Synapse PCS and PiWeb acp-IT offers the most advanced solution for process data recording, analysis, diagnosis and reporting available in the market.
