InFrame Synapse Equipment Integration
With the InFrame Synapse Equipment Integration Framework the integration of all equipment (process equipment, automation equipment) is performed to couple the equipment with InFrame Synapse. By usage of different workflows it is possible to create individual equipment integration for any equipment type or equipment.
An important feature of InFrame Synapse Equipment Integration is the central management and deployment of all equipment interfaces. Therefore it is possible to get a high degree of scalability (managing a high number of process and/or automation equipment) combined with central management and monitoring capabilities of all available equipment interfaces and their status within a given production line.
Since the InFrame Synapse Equipment Integration is based on workflows, all changes of the equipment interfaces are under the version and release management control of InFrame Synapse.
The Equipment Integration can be performed as well with file based equipment interfaces or protocol based equipment interfaces (e.g. XML, SECS/GEM, OPC, etc.). A later change e.g. from file based to protocol based equipment interfaces is easily possible and supported by the system.
Identification systems (e.g. bar code reader, 2-D Code reader, RFID reader) can be optionally either attached to the equipment itself (and thus being accessed via the equipment interface) or alternatively directly by using the Equipment Integration Framework of Synapse MES (e.g. via TCP/IP or other protocols).
Key Features of InFrame Synapse Equipment Integration
- Flexible connection of different process and/or automation equipment to InFrame Synapse
- Supports connection to a high variety of identification systems
- Supports centralized management and deployment of equipment interfaces
- Supports different communication standards (e.g. XML, SECS/GEM, OPC, etc.) to connect to process or automation equipment
